The salary range for an editor is between $31,500 and $66,500 a year. The median salary for your standard editor is around $53,000, with the average coming in at around $49,000. The range in salary is based on the type of publishing company the editor is working for and the years of experience they have. Those with more experience and a higher degree will make closer to the top of the pay scale while those just starting out will be at the lower end.
